Temequii Digging

a Grave

Strength, ritual, and the last sliver of light before dawn.

The artwork was designed with full technical flexibility: depth, timing, and post-production control. I approached Temequii as more than a warrior — as a woman shaped by resilience, emotion, and inner conflict.

The scene takes place during the “magic hour,” the fragile transition between night and dawn. This choice adds cinematic color and hints that she spent the entire night digging the grave, completing the ritual at the first touch of sunlight.

“Not every burden leaves a wound, some reveal themselves with the first light.”

In the alternate variant, the composition becomes more psychological: ghostlike visions appear in translucent layers, crafted for fluid animation. The illustration stands strong as a still image, but gains even more narrative weight in motion.
